Chinese Style Coleslaw

Here is a unique recipe for coleslaw done in a Chinese style.

1 Large package of shredded cabbage (or coleslaw).

1 Bundle green onions (dice green stalks only)

1 Cup sliced almonds

1 Cup sunflower seeds

2 Packages Beef  Ramon Noodles – Crumbled (Save flavor packs for the dressing)

1 Cup salad oil

1/2 Cup white vinegar

3/4 Cup sugar

2 Packs Beef flavor from Ramon packages

1  Mix salad ingredients together and refrigerate until ready to serve.

2.  Mix dressing ingredients in separate container and refrigerate.

3  Just before serving, pour dressing on salad, mix well and serve.

NOTE: We’ve prepared this recipe with the dressing as specified.  Of course, it was delicious.  However, on second look we noted that it was high in fat, sodium, MSG and extra sugars due to the beef flavor Ramon packages.

We sought a healthier option.  We found a ginger sesame salad dressing at our local market (actually we found 3 different brands).  After taste testing, we found that any of them made an excellent substitute.  All were lower in fat and sodium.  Anyway, we wanted to give you an option.

Once again, thanks to Charlene and DJ of State Farm Insurance
